I agree that trying to turn people around you into rationalists is probably a bad idea.
I’m going to disagree with that sentiment. In general, the people around me have goals that are compatible with mine; so helping them to be more effective at accomplishing their goals helps me as well. (If nothing else, it makes them less likely to sabotage me by accident). Secondly, if a person recognises that I have been helpful, then they are more likely to be helpful in return; purposely sabotaging someone’s rationality could lead to emnity if they find out, which would be bad.
