I didn’t make the point of this post well. It’s supposed to be along the same lines as Beyond the Reach of God. The main threat isn’t rhetorical flourish but (forgive my Jungian-ness) alignment with the Archetypes. My intuition of what can happen, of what stories can play out in reality, is based on alignment with these inherited human-centric narratives, which might be beautiful artifacts of the ancestral environment but have no predictive power when it comes to ASI or human extinction.
