This generally fits with my model of humans back-chaining our higher, endorsed, terminal-ish values from our immediate urges. If you can’t feel companionate love, then you don’t enjoy relationships, so you end up not endorsing them as a high-level goal and finding other things to endorse instead. And vice versa, if you feel companionate love, you end up endorsing having valuable relationships as a high-level goal.
