Recently, a planetary system similar to our own solar system was found. This is one of the first cases where one has rocky planets near the star and large gas giants farther away, like our own solar system. Unlike our system, this system apparently has everyone fairly close in, with all the planets closer to the star than the Earth is to the sun.
In case anyone’s wondering, it looks as if the star is comparable in size and luminosity to ours, so this system probably isn’t any more hospitable to Earth-like life than our solar system would be if all the planets were moved much closer in.
