So I’ll make the smaller point that an “entity” can be a non-living thing (I think you might want to use the term “agent” in its place) so your examples are technically not false positives (unless we are talking about the “spirit” of a thing rather than the thing itself) or even negatives.
I also don’t think that dogs, however pampered or tiny-brained they may be, really can’t distinguish between humans and dogs.
