also the words are so slopirific and full of corporate buzzwords that my brain kept bouncing off of them … dealing with AI slop has made my brain unwilling to read other forms of slop as well, and I endorse this as healthy

The feeling of incomplete fluency in a dialect is different from what you get when reading something that’s poorly thought-out, even as both can be the case.
Gaining specialized fluency is often useless (the same as with languages), but enables you to discern enough aspects of meaning and domain specific references that some pieces of apparent slop starts reading as making meaningful claims instead (if perhaps expressed in a needlessly sloppy and unhelpful way). Or to be able to skim more efficiently, quickly figuring out that there’s a nugget of wisdom on page 17. Other things are inherently slop, but even then can be useful for improving the comprehension of the domain specific dialect.
