Really? I think it’s pretty common to be (a) not particularly good at something, (b) aware you’re not particularly good at it, and (c) nonetheless not want that fact rubbed in your face if rubbing is avoidable. (Not saying this is necessarily a good thing, but I do think it’s pretty common.)
