Just a side note: the “correct” way to deal with irrational thoughts is to find the feeling in your body that is creating that thought, and then sitting with that feeling nonreactively until it dissolves into insight.
I don’t necessarily have an argument, just years of practice and plenty of practitioners around me that would attest for this method. Go try it!
