I think this example of untrustworthy brands with fake reviews shows why we don’t want a completely unregulated system for safety relevant products. I do agree that the FDA is being overly cautious. I don’t think that that means that no FDA at all would be better. Fortunately, I do not find it difficult to imagine a redesigned FDA which works in a much more reasonable fashion, giving us the best of both worlds. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing!
