The Ghost Scale

I wrote out a theory about the alignment problem, art, and empathy, all unified through active inference. Then, I overdeveloped a pymdp simulation to check it. It survived several rounds of validation, but took a few honest beatings that are linked below as well. However, the results supported the overall model quite robustly.

Here’s the guide to how to read this post. It is itself, as is nearly everything I wrote or linked here, marked in Ghost Scale.

There’s a lot more here.

If you want a raw breakdown of every finding, here you have it.

If you want the model in plain English, go to Art: A Unifying Model.

If you want it as an academic preprint, then I’ve got that too. Please note that this is the only artifact not appropriately marked in Ghost Scale. The preprint should be marked predominantly Curator tier, with large chunks of Polished tier throughout—but is currently unable to be so in order to meet publication requirements. The irony is real.
