I mean continuity of all aspects of thought, which is to say that the mind is an analogue computer (including time) . Maybe it wouldn’t affect anything. I just wonder whether it would because one interpretation of continuously evolving systems is that they are differential equations solving themselves, and it’s notable that they very rarely run into the same problems that discrete ones do. Not that I understand the problems facing decision theory very well, but they seem to be related to self reference and recursion in some way, and there are ways in which those kinds of things become less of an issue in the continuous realm. For example, infinitely subdivided self similar fractals can exist in a continuous space. Essentially, something infinite can contain a smaller copy of itself while something finite cannot. I would not be extremely surprised if this turned out to be relevant here.
