Rational Ottawa—Plans in Motion

Hey! What are you up to?
No, actually. What are you doing?
Are you working on something right now? Doing something that is *in service of* something else, a goal, a value, an ability? Something that could be considered as a step in a plan? Or, it’s well into the evening now… maybe you’re recharging for tomorrow, or enjoying doing something that makes life good now?

This week, try to catch yourself doing things, and interpret who you’re doing them for: you now, you soon-in-the-future, you far-in-the-future (or heck, even for someone else, you altruists ;) ). Do your best to *sort* anything you notice yourself doing.

What do you have actual plans about? What allows you to/stops you from setting plans in motion? In what areas of life are the plan-blockers ‘epistemic’ (the future is so uncertain you’d be hopelessly unlikely to make a good plan if you tried), and where are they ‘instrumental’ (you know what the plan would be, but it’s not in motion because *reasons*).

I’ve booked us a table for dinner at The Blue Cactus on THURSDAY (Feb. 6th) at 6pm.

We’re always welcoming newcomers, whatever the week- but since a couple of people have been getting in touch looking for the right time to get involved, I will mention that I would predict this week to be plenty new-people-friendly! Hope to see you there!
