I think this point is actually pretty deflationary towards symmetry arguments. If I’m driving, there’s a symmetry argument that goes like “I have no information about the correct speed to drive, because people driving faster or slower than me could claim they’re just as right.” This argument does not lead you towards the truth no matter where you start. In fact, it’s a general claim that no such arguments exist!
