Your YouTube linking game is very funny, both got me in different ways.
You quoted some from “The Line” about the smaller more organized group in the Convoy. While it was great that they had nonzero people on the ground who looked around, I failed to see any facts calling this smaller group violent or anti-democracy. The facts were that they were polite, well-organized, and asked you to get off their lawn. The author’s friend got inside and “agreed with my description of the residents as organized, polite, and very clear in their desire for you to leave”. Where is all the narrative coming from that “a cadre of seasoned street brawlers whose primary goal is to further erode the legitimacy of the state — not just the city of Ottawa, or Ontario or Canada, but of democracies generally”. That seemed to be coming from the author’s politician friends. Or maybe there’s other context not stated in the article. But overall hearing that a major protest was well-organized seemed like a positive update, against it growing in an out-of-control way, and for it being able to be negotiated with.
Shrug, I have not looked into it and don’t have any confident opinions, I don’t even know yet if I believe the financial constrictions have actually happened. I just wanted to say the linked reporting seemed to make up a bunch of narrative based on no ground facts.
