I wonder if it is a good idea to ask people: “how many (approximately) humans could an AI kill at most?”.
If they say zero, clearly they are not interested in a reasonable debate, or just not ready for it.
If they say any number greater than zero, at least you got them thinking about the topic slightly more specifically. (Maybe you could afterwards nudge them, like when you talk to the AI: “is this really the best plan you can think of? improve it” and again “improve it”...)
