This doesn’t consider a blind replicator with error correction. Once created it expands. For example a life like tech system that reproduces itself out of asteroids. It lands on one, turns it into copies of itself, travels to the other asteroids. When most are converted, they make a starship using sun-sail technology to travel to other stars. This can’t evolve and once started will travel to probably all stars in the galaxy. An expansionist civ would have no reason not to send this in advance, i.e. pre-mine the asteroids into a more useful form. In a world/universe with unstable expansionism we would expect to see something have gone through our asteroids in such a manner. We do not.
