I think I might try using this as a LW landing page. It introduces some of the jargon at a nice pace—only a couple of pieces are actually unique—while hinting that there’s a lot more, and points at reasons to think about weird fun transhumanism without having to commit to “believing in it,” which seems like a great avenue for opening up curiosity.
That said, the single sentence about libertarians near the beginning not being engaged in the same sort of competitive world registered as praising a specific tribe which sort of put me off (since it wasn’t my tribe) before I even think about engaging with specifics (i.e. distinctions between libertarians, liberaltarians, the american libertarian party, or whether the green party would work as an example). I can see now that this is a reference to a book but I’d expect most readers not to get that reference (and many not to think of libertarians as their tribe) so there might be a better way to write that paragraph. Even just leaving that last sentence about libertarians out or as a footnote I would have felt better about it.
