I don’t think killing it with fire is the right approach either, but this research should be taken slow. I do not see a near future where superbaby injections aren’t made prohibitively expensive, creating a new race of super-oligarchs. I think many of those hesitant researchers mentioned in the beginning of the article also see that future, which is probably why they aren’t too excited to discuss those applications of their research.
