My students were 18-21 but my brain could not understand what you’ve been describing, for them it was simply a historical fact, not an event. That’s when I understood why everyone was making such a fuss around the fall of the Wall in Berlin.
I was not following AI enough at the time but when I saw the Netflix documentary I understood that that Wait But Why article was no longer so distant.
