Eliezer Yudkowski is the founder of LessWrong. I suspect you are being downvoted because your ignorance of this marks you as an outsider or ‘noob.’ But I didn’t downvote you so that is speculation.
So evidently this Eliezer fellow is like an intellectual soup-nazi. And this “discussion” forum is a platform for him to surround himself with fawning sycophants.
I do have to admit that the rules of this forum, where one must achieve 20 karma points before one can initiate a post, seem to very effectively weed out anyone who goes against the Eliezer-worship grain. So I’m impressed with Eliezer’s success in that. Assuming his goal was to create an echo chamber for himself, he seems to have succeeded.
Thanks for your honest answer, BTW.
Also I have to confess I knew all along who Eliezer was. I posted the question as a test, I expected it to be downvoted. I also expect this will be downvoted, and all further posts I make will be downvoted, until I give up and go away and leave this community in peace. And that’s ok too.

The downvoters seem to have correctly figured out you were just trolling.

Congrats for the correct prediction. I hadn’t downvoted you before, but you just revealed yourself to be a liar, a troll, and a random insulter of people, while you’re patting yourself on the back for your supposed intellectual and individualistic bravery.
FYI, some chunk of the list downvotes PUA type articles as a matter of course. I think they’re being dicks about it, but a few karma points won’t kill anyone.
You, however, are now just being an ass, in the usual, incredibly boring, first month on the Intertubes way.
Show up on a list. Post your manifesto. Receive a poor response. Pull all sorts of nonsense out of your ass about the intellectual and moral defects of the list, setting up your departure as a rejection of the list for their moral and intellectual inferiority. How else could they have failed to swoon over your manifesto?
I posted the question as a test
Ah, and now you’re testing us. And so helpfully letting us know. How big of you. I’m sure everyone is all aquiver with hope that they pass your test.
Yawnaroony.
Here’s my test for you. I’ve pointed out what an ass you’re being. Let’s see if you can grok that.
LW karma points are not earned for worshiping Eliezer. He’s a great guy, he’s doing a lot of good, and is a tremendous writer, but if he has his own cheerleader team, he must be hiding it somewhere, because LW is not it. It is OK to disagree with Eliezer, and actually he expects that to happen. We’re all here to help each other become less wrong.
“Intellectual soup-nazi” is the exact opposite of a man who said, “there is the Way and my Way, the pure (or perhaps shared) thing at the center, and the many paths we take there from wherever we started out [...] “I think there will not be a proper Art until many people have progressed to the point of remaking the Art in their own image, and then radioed back to describe their paths.”
Eliezer doesn’t decide whether you have enough karma to post; the community does. That way, your score serves as an indirect measure of how much your presence here adds to the quality of the discussion. If you can’t post because of too low karma, you can’t blame anyone but yourself (or the occasional karma troll).
Also I have to confess I knew all along who Eliezer was.
And all this follows from three downvotes on a question you should have been able to answer yourself with trivial effort? You’re inferring very much on the basis of very little. How exactly were you able to conclude all that?
Who is Eliezer? You mention that name in this post.
Interesting. I simply ask a question and I get 2 (and counting) downvotes?
Can someone tell me what I’m missing?
Some history, but mostly Google :-)
Eliezer is the editor of LW, as well as the author of the Sequences, as well as many other things.

I didn’t downvote your post, but was tempted for this reason which has nothing to do with EY.
Let’s clear some things up:

So you signed up here in order to… ?
