I disagree about the decision theory. the move i see is “create incentive to not do thing i consider bad” and it’s just… fine. extorting people doesn’t make sense, timelessly, people should ignore such treads. but act in a way that incentivize good things and disincentivized bad things is just good.
it sounds that you refer to threads that exist only if the other side concede to them as the way to go, but this is not thing that ideal agents would do.
