Fundamentally? You wrote an essay explaining how the trope refers to Spock and not Vulcans. Regardless on whether or not that is true (the sanity of each of them varies drastically depending on the episode and the writers) the flaw would be that the name is “Straw Vulcan” and not “Straw Spock”. That’s a superficial difference, not a fundamental one. (I really was surprised when nothing fundamental to the concept was challenged.)
