I think the Black community in USA has a similar situation: many men are in jail, which skews the gender ratio on the market; also black men are more likely than black women to date other races. (Information from internet, not sure how reliable it is.) Seems like a paradise for the black men. But the impact on the community is that there are many fatherless families, with all the dysfunction that typically results.
So yeah, the situation could simultaneously be good for you, and bad for the next generation.
