Karlsruhe Rationality Meetup: LWCW Reflection

We aim to connect Rationalists from Karlsruhe (Germany) and surrounding areas. We are always happy to get to know new people and new perspectives(!). Please feel free to drop by even if you are unsure, feel awkward about it, or are not ‘the typical LessWrong / SSC reader’.

A few of our members recently went to the Less Wrong Community Weekend 2022 and the Berlin Rationality Dojo happening in the week after the LWCW. We want to meet in order to discuss and share our experiences at these events.

If you went to the LWCW then please take some time to reflect about your experiences. The following prompts may help:

  • Which workshops did you enjoy? Which workshops did you get a lot out of?

  • What are your most memorable conversations during the weekend? Are there connections you made that you want to keep alive?

  • What did you learn?

  • What did you like about the event? What did surprise you?

We’ll follow the following schedule:

  • 18:30 − 19:00: soft beginning, socializing

  • ~19:00: Introductions (in case of new attendees), Updates (what surprises did you encounter recently / what are your biggest updates? / what did you personally learn?)

  • ~19:10: Discussion about LWCW

  • ~20:00: open end + further social activities

We meet around 18:30 to 19:00 (see above) somewhere below the trees in the eastern end of the Otto-Dullenkopf-Park ( 49.0034, 8.4290 https://goo.gl/maps/K4kcZhYWkcrRDYjV9). I will order some pizza, so please RSVP.
In case of spontaneous changes, I will post a comment here and / or reply to DMs
