If you can’t acquire a 2nd monitor for what ever reason you can make better use of a single monitor using a tiling windows manager.
For Windows : https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys (i use this every day)
For Mac : https://github.com/ianyh/Amethyst (first google result, might be better)
For Linux : hehehe, good luck
These are also quite useful if you’ve got multiple monitors
for linux, the put windows plugin works reasonably well for me: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/39/put-windows/
there’s also writing wmctrl scripts: https://linux.die.net/man/1/wmctrl
There are many tiling window managers for Linux. I like xmonad: https://xmonad.org/
For Mac there’s one called Magnet. It’s free and simple. Might be worth checking out.
