In the first round, about dozen people joined and it was fun. Then I guess the novelty wore off, and the next round it was fewer people, and the third round just one person.
Not sure what is the lesson here.
On one hand, of course, new things are interesting, then people naturally move on to something else.
On the other hand, if the goal is to become a great blogger, that’s kind of permanent commitment; for example, Scott Alexander did not become a successful blogger by doing a really intense month of blogging and then giving up. Perhaps people underestimate the fact that if they want to become great bloggers they kinda have to keep doing this forever?
That makes me wonder about the original Inkhaven, too. Sure, one month of intense blogging is a great thing, and you can learn a lot. But the key thing is, will you continue blogging after Inkhaven is over?
...I guess if you want some kind of public commitment, maybe announce your intention in a shortform, and then post a link in a shortform every day?
This is awesome! I’d like to join for the 2026 round. Can you please post a new Discord link? Looks like the other ones are expired.
Sorry, the project is dead.
