It feels to me like Legitimacy is an aspect of Extrapolation in Coherent Extrapolated Volition, so I would think of it within the context of CEV, rather than as an alternative.
As with corrigibility, I would expect there to be basin around legitimacy, and I would expect it to be more robust than corrigibility, however, it could still be fragile, so understanding the basin rather than just relying on it’s existence seems important.
