When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
Intelligent machines are likely to one day be able to upload humans—but the chance of any individual modern human getting uploaded are probably pretty slender. So, you probably shouldn’t feel as though you have a personal stake.
