Tom, if having an upper limit on disutility(Specks) that’s lower than disutility(Torture1) is begging the question in favour of SPECKS then why isn’t not* having such an upper limit begging the question in favour of TORTURE?
I find it rather surprising that so many people agree that utility functions may be drastically nonlinear but are apparently completely certain that they know quite a bit about how they behave in cases as exotic as this one.
