I think most people are missing the psychological effects of rationalism and irrationalism, and not seeing that this is an equation which depends on itself. Religion is irrational, but it might give you the psychological defense you need to cope with or overcome something. Rationality might harm your sense of wonder and inherent spiritual beliefs which are wrong but nonetheless helpful. So irrationality might be rational, and rationality might be irrational.
Irrationality is a sort of overfitting, into your life and society. But why should you be correct in a manner which is so general that you’re not specialized to life, society, mental well-being and winning?
