Lightning Talks: Thought, Trick, Curiosity

  • Contact: marta [dot] krzeminska [at] gmail.com

Join us to test this experimental meet-up format at the Bremen rationality community!

What is it about? Bring a thought, a trick, or a curiosity—and share it in 5 minutes. This session will be a series of lightning talks, followed by small-group discussions.

What could be a topic of a lightning talk?

  • Something you recently learned and think others should know too
→ e.g. “What is a transformer, and why is it cool?”

  • A clever trick or small life-improving insight
→ e.g. “How to tie your shoelaces faster (1 min demo)”

  • A work-in-progress idea you’re thinking about
→ e.g. “Preliminary results from using asparagus as doorstops”

No need to be polished! No PowerPoint required (but props or diagrams welcome—I’ll bring pen and paper!). It’s not school, you won’t be graded. The point is to share excitement, practice expressing ideas, and spark conversations—not to impress. You get points for showing up.

I’ll time talks: ⏱ 5 minutes speaking + 5 minutes Q&A.

If you’d like to speak, add your topic(s) HERE by—this helps us plan the lineup. Based on the last meetup I have high confidence you each have an intriguing topic you could talk about for at least 5 minutes!

We’ll split into groups after for deeper dives on topics that came up.

❗️ Please RSVP here by June 9, so I can book a large table at the café!
