Ah, To think thoughts fully uninfluenced by the surrounding society one has to be physically removed from it. actually talks about the community. But I haven’t actually considered how it applies to individuals too. I think if the community is set up to honor differences of opinion, as long as everyone follows certain norms of discussion, then nobody has to be removed.
