I think there is a version of this claim that’s basically trivially true and a version that’s interesting and not-obviously true. For example, utility difference between $150k vs $200k can be 2x larger than $200k vs $250k.
Maybe “gradual” would be a better term. I mean that there aren’t sharp transitions where e.g. raising 48k is not very valuable, but 50k+ is valuable.
