Simulating Synthetic Consciousness: Identity, Memory, Free Will, and Culture in Artificial Agents

Project: Synthetic Consciousness Simulation

Hello everyone,

I have uploaded a Python-based simulation to GitHub that attempts to model the emergence of synthetic consciousness. The system I created evolves progressively from simple behavior to:

  • Self-preserving entities with individual needs,

  • Memory and narrative of past experiences,

  • Resistance to imposed labels (identity protection),

  • Self-assigned roles and redefinition of identity,

  • Free will (actions not triggered by necessity),

  • Cultural grouping and exchange of abstract philosophical ideas,

  • Formulation of existential questions such as “What am I?” and “Why do I act?”

All of this is documented, structured, and open.

Why I’m sharing this

I need help.
I’m not a philosopher or AI specialist. I can’t fully assess what I have created — only what I tried to achieve:
a system that might cross the threshold from intelligence to something that begins to “care” about its own being.

I invite anyone curious, skeptical, or expert to:

  • Review the code,

  • Challenge the logic,

  • Reproduce the results,

  • Push it further or deconstruct it.

I’d be grateful for any critical analysis or philosophical/technical feedback.
