I think that they appear to be more common than they actually are because their proponents are much louder than everyone else.
democracy is bad, there are racial differences in important traits, and women complain way too much about how men treat them

(Also, there are plenty of left-wingers who wouldn’t throw a fit at “it appears that black people and Native Americans have lower average IQ than white people, whereas East Asians and Ashkenazi Jews have higher average IQ; the differences between the group averages are comparable with the standard deviations within each group; it’s not yet fully clear how much the differences between the group averages are due to genetics and how much they are due to socio-economic conditions”, at least outside liberal arts departments.)
