Yep. That is the primary reason I haven’t yet signed up for cryonics: I can’t tell if I want to because I actually think it’s a good idea or because I just believe things that people I like say.

You and I and lots of people will sign up for cryonics when it’s the normal thing to do in our social group.
Bad epistemic luck, and also adverse selection. Once you become known as persuadable, you tend to attract some unsavory characters.
