Now, I admit that in my past I have fallen into the “adore the guru” trap so I still have this fear in my head and am cautious to not do the same mistake again. The cult-threads here are helping me to evaluate my position carefully.
But I like what you wrote about that innocence of being able to experience real admiration and excitement. I think if you let your critical thinking stifle that you are losing some of the important driving forces in your life. We should be happy if we experience those strong positive emotions that pull us in the right direction, if they are justified by reality:
