Hey folks, Due to the worsening Covid-19 situation, Rational Ottawa is going to be exploring methods of moving our weekly meetups to an online format for the foreseeable future.
I want to try to ease us into to the practice of long-distance meetups this week- no topic in particular, we all just agree to be online at the same time and ready to take a crack at socializing using a few different methods: the discord chat, a Facebook group video call, some online party-style games, and anything else we can come up with to try. A PSA: it’s not just people for whom Covid-19 presents a fatal risk- it could also be deadly to groups like ours who run, in no small amount, on momentum. Society is, of necessity, grinding to a halt around us to stop the spread of the virus. Interruptions to habits, even our positive getting-together-weekly habit, can break them. I ask that we put in the effort to find a way to hang out online (or combination of ways) that works to keep Rational Ottawa appealing to all our members. Let’s keep our meetup-streak going!
