Can there be a big lag time between when you submit something to lesswrong and to when it shows up in recent posts? (I waited two days before giving up)
No idea about the time lag—my posts show up quickly—but my intuition says that a fair coin has a 1⁄2 probability of being heads, and nothing about the experiment changes that.
Nope, new posts should show up immediately (or maybe with a half hour delay or so; I seem to recall that the sidebars are cached, but for far less than two days). Did it appear to post successfully, just not showing up? The only thing I can think of is that you might not have switched the “Post to” menu from “Drafts for neq1″ to “LessWrong”.
I tried to post this discussion of the sleeping beauty problem to less wrong, but it didn’t work

So I just posted it on my blog.

Ah, I think that’s it (posted to drafts). Thanks. Not sure how I missed that.
